“talking with a voice”, {talking with telepathy}
Roseia
The moment I regained consciousness I was aware of the breathing tube, which meant only one thing I had been unconscious again. I thought back to the last thing I remembered, and it was dad giving a tiny bit of my fox energy back. I felt like I was taking one step forward but in reality, I went two steps backwards. The road to recovery wasn’t going to easy but I wasn’t prepared to backtrack on my progress.
I opened my eyes surprised to find my eyesight had improved, this was an unexpected side effect. A blue cloth entered my peripheral vision on my left, it was Shin-ju running a damp cloth down my left arm. The only reason he would be doing this is if I had a high fever, which was more than likely.
When he was running it up my arm he noticed I had my eyes open so he stopped with the cloth and asked “Roseia can you squeeze my hand.” I found it easier than the first period of unconsciousness which surprised me. {how long was I out for this time?} I asked him and he replied {five days}. {please let the doctor know I have woken up} I instructed Shin-ju.
The doctor walked into the room with a smile on his face, he went through the same routine as my first period of unconsciousness. This time he was happier with my responses, so he was happy to remove the breathing tube with the restriction of putting me on bed rest and vocal rest.
He clarified “We need to more careful this time around because we did a blood test while you were under and the results showed you have low immune system. The tube will come out but anyone that is sick can’t come near you at all.” I gave him a thumbs up to show him I agreed to his terms.
The breathing tube came out and instead of the nostril version, the clear mask was put on my face to give my lungs more oxygen. This time I didn’t get freaked out due to knowing the process and I hoped to get to next stage this time. He checked my leg reflexes and random nerves in my feet, he looked at me confused “your reflexes and nerve damage have improved along with your eyes and hand strength but your immune system is affecting everything else. I don’t know what this means so we need to be extra careful.”
Suddenly my eyes felt heavy which made sense with my limited energy level and the last thing I saw was Shin-ju’s look of relief.
Yeon
Three months ago, Roseia entered my life and changed it for the better because I found another nine tailed fox. It was clear to me once my daughter started getting a gut feeling about her, that she wasn’t leaving our lives. I have thought of her like a sister since the 14th August and the improvement with her breathing over the last two weeks was a good sign.
Today her rehabilitation continued after she have been taken off bed rest a few days ago. Doctor Kim had asked for me to assist after she saw my height, this meant taking the early morning shift to watch over her.
The doctor arrived at eleven am “Good morning Yeon and Roseia” she continued ” with the progress you have been making, I want you to try weight bearing. Your brother will be supporting you by being your ‘table’, normally I would use a high-backed chair in my room for you to hold on to. in your situation the early stages of Partial Weight Bearing will need to be done in here till you are stronger.”
Doctor Kim got my sister to sit on the bed with her legs over the edge and her feet touching the ground, then I stood in front of her within arms reach. “when you are ready Roseia reach out to Yeon and once you are standing, I will start the timer.” she took a few deep breaths before reaching out to me and I grabbed her arms gently to pull her into a standing position.
Her first attempt lasted 30 seconds, {Roseia?}
{busy…focusing} after this I stopped distracting her.
Each further attempt kept adding time till she was standing with help from me for six minutes. “On a scale of one to ten how would you rate the pain in your legs and feet?” she asked Roseia. “It is at a five, but I am finding it harder to breathe” she replied slightly out of breath.
Doctor Kim pushed the button on the wall to get a nurse into the room. Roseia laid back down and I raise the head part of the bed and as I was doing this, a nurse placed the clear mask on her face and restarting the oxygen. as she took a few assisted breaths I saw her body relax, in the corner of my eye I saw the doctor giving her feet and legs a massage.
“The weight bearing you did in today’s session wasn’t easy for you so I’m proud of your progress and as you do this more, your legs and feet will get stronger” she reassured Roseia. “One session at a time and when you are ready, we will start with taking your first steps.” My sister gave us a weak smile then she made a dry cough, which I could tell hurt her chest.
“Take it easy and I will see you next week Roseia” Doctor Kim said before she left the room. I held her hand to comfort my younger sister, {I don’t think I would have made it this far without everyone helping so thank you Yeon} she thanked me. {I see you like a younger sister and I always care about my family} I responded. I looked at my watch and said “your lunch will be here soon so relax until then.”
